Forty across, eight deep
Eight millimetres is thin for a 40 mm watch. The usual pairing is forty by twelve, which sits proud of the wrist and catches every sleeve you own. This one is flat enough to wear under a shirt all day and wide enough to read at arm's length without squinting - the two things that usually pull against each other.
Five colours, and the same watch under all of them
Green, black, blue, coffee, and a white and black version. Same case, same movement, same 20 mm strap width, so nothing is compromised by the colour you pick - you are choosing on looks alone. Green and coffee are the two that look least like everybody else's watch, if that matters to you.
Called Explorer, and here is the catch
The name suggests something you take up a mountain, and we should be straight with you: no water resistance rating is published for this model, so it has to stay dry. Off before the shower, off at the sink, and not out in a downpour. It is an everyday watch with an outdoor look, and at eight millimetres it is a very good one - just not the one for the mountain.

Yes. Every watch comes with a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. If something goes wrong in that period, email support@benedictswatches.com with your order number and a photo and we will repair or replace it. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse or normal wear such as scratches and strap wear.
The rating for this watch is listed in the specifications above. If no water resistance is listed, treat the watch as not water resistant and keep it dry.
As a guide: 3 ATM (30 m) covers rain, splashes and washing your hands. 5 ATM (50 m) means you can leave it on in the shower. 10 ATM (100 m) is fine for swimming and snorkelling. None of our watches is certified for diving, whatever the case style suggests.

Yes. Quartz models arrive with a battery fitted and running; when it eventually runs down, any watch shop can replace it. Automatic models need no battery at all - they wind themselves as you wear them.
